The prompt framework
Every effective prompt follows this structure:
[Subject] + [Composition] + [Style] + [Lighting] + [Constraints]
Example: "Ceramic coffee dripper on wooden counter, product centered, soft morning side light, warm earth tones, clean negative space for headline, editorial product photography"
The three parts that matter
1. Subject: What are you generating? Be specific ("artisan ceramic dripper" not "coffee thing") 2. Composition: How is it arranged? ("centered", "rule of thirds", "negative space for text") 3. Style: What aesthetic? ("editorial photography", "flat illustration", "cinematic")
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Fix | |---------|-----| | Too many adjectives | Use 2-3 specific style words | | No composition direction | Add "centered", "left-aligned", "negative space" | | Vague lighting | Say "softbox", "golden hour", "dramatic side light" | | Asking for text | Generate background first, add text on canvas | | Too many references | Use 1-3 focused references |
Prompt patterns by use case
Product photography: "[product] on [surface], [lighting], [angle], clean background"
Social media: "[background description], [mood], [color palette], [aspect ratio]"
Campaign hero: "[subject] in [setting], [composition], [lighting], [brand colors]"
FAQ
Q: Should I use negative prompts? A: Yes when available. Use them to remove artifacts ("no blurry text, no extra fingers").
Q: How many variations should I generate? A: 8-12 to see patterns. Pick 2-3 winners to refine.
Q: Can prompts guarantee consistency? A: Use the same constraints + references + a stable tool (Vibart: 94/100 consistency).
